HOW TO IDENTIFY DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANGLES

ANGLES

  • Have ONE vertex
  • Consist of two rays that meet at a point
  • Have perfectly straight lines
  • Angles are measured in degrees(°)
  • Angles are measured with protractors

RIGHT ANGLES

  • All right angles are exactly 90°
  • No right angle can be more or less than 90°
  • A right angle always has a box where the lines meet

ACUTE ANGLES

  • All acute angles are less than 90°
  • All angles less than 90° are acute
  • The vertex is marked by a curved line

OBTUSE ANGLES

  • All obtuse angles are more than 90° and less than 180°
  • All angles less than 180° and more than 90° are obtuse
  • The vertex is marked by a curved line

STRAIGHT ANGLES

  • All straight angles are exactly 180°
  • No straight angle can be more or less than 180°
  • It looks sometimes like just a line but it really is an angle

REFLEX ANGLES

  • A reflex angle is always more than 180° and less than 360°
  • Any angle less than 360° and more than 180° is a reflex angle
  • The curve (called an arc) of a reflex indicates how to measure it
  • The arc of a reflex angle will always be more than a half circle

THANKS!

I HOPE YOU LEARNED A LOT!!!!!!!!
