YOUR WEB SITE

WHERE DO YOU BEGIN?
A conversation with Hugh Swan of Future Ideas Media Design on what you want from a web site will bring clarity on what needs to be done, a plan of action, time frame and proposals to fit with your requirements and budget.

BEFORE YOU START

DECIDE YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE
Whether local or international, home owners, over 60's; even if your audience is quite generic an understanding of who it is you are communicating with has relevance to imagery, language, design layout and other factors, so it is a priority consideration before you dive in to writing content and getting excited over the look and feel of your site.

CONTENT IS ALL

DRAFT YOUR CONTENT, THEN 'SLEEP ON IT'
Draft, contemplate, consult, listen to comments, re-draft, sleep on it, consult etc.

Future Ideas Media Design can assist with content decisions, drafting from outlines and optimising content for optimal search engine performance.

KEEP IT IN FOCUS

WORDS - VIDEO - SHOP - SOUND - IMAGES
Your content is going to be most digestible when it is clear and concise. Clearly laid out content with logical connections between content areas and intuitive navigation is good.

Images are really valuable and used to best effect when they support content without distracting from the site visitor from getting the most from what you want to get across.

Multi media is powerful and works for you when it is relevant and the best option to do the job of communicating your message.

FUTURE IDEAS MEDIA DESIGN

SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED FROM CONCEPT TO LAUNCH
The Future Ideas' tag line 'future ideas - your ideas' is more than just a 'sound byte'; our aim is to support you in realising your web site, not to 'dictate' how you should do it, but we also recognise that guidance and direction can be a welcome contribution.

PRO DESIGN TEMPLATE OR BESPOKE DESIGN
There is no 'best way', but budgetary constraints can be a determining factor.

If an absolutely brand specific unique design is required we can create that for you.

An alternative employed by many thousands of web sites is to choose a professional pre- built design template from the vast resource available internationally and have this customised to become unique to your brand and requirements. We can do that too!

MANAGED OR SELF MANAGED?

CMS # JOOMLA # WORDPRESS # DRUPAL
Content management systems allow for site owners to perform self editing, be it article content, pricing changes, images, blogging and so forth.

Just because you have a CMS web site does not mean you have to go it alone. We can set it up, show you how to use it and set you on the way to site self management; or we can maintain your web site for you ongoing; or a bit of both.

Options and choices are available to suit you.

ON BUDGET

WE HAVE SOLUTIONS FOR MOST BUDGETS!
The costs of a web site at simplest are:

Bespoke Design or Template Customisation

Developing the web site - creating the pages by whatever means; static pages or CMS, or using an on-site builder are the common options; then populating the pages with your content.

Hosting

Adding functionality such as a shop and security for transactions if needed

We can guide you through the options to get the best from your available budget.

Initial consultation costs you nothing and can gain you an understanding of what is entailed in creating a web site, what the options are, how long it may take and how much it is likely to cost.

Take the opportunity to sound out your ideas and decide if you would like us to work with you on your project. If you would like a visit to Marshfield you will be welcome, otherwise Hugh will visit you at your invitation or we can meet by conference call if that is your preference.

Thank you for reading all the way through to this bit. :-) Visit our web site at www.futureideas.co.uk
