One more thing...

Technology fails. Have a back up plan.

Untitled Slide

eSafety is more than just being safe on the internet.

It has to be explicitly taught to students (and staff, and parents...)

esafety is...

  • Embedded in most categories for Ofsted inspections
  • Every teacher's responsibility
  • Required across the curriculum

Social media

Hated by many headteachers...

social media dos and don'ts

  • Do use it - just use it wisely.
  • Be careful about your privacy settings.
  • Do you identify who you are and where you work?
  • If you don't want your headteacher to see it, don't post it.
  • Remember your digital footprint!

Twitter

Get on it.

Some edtech tweeters:

  • @FlyMyGeekFlag (me!)
  • @DeputyMitchell (Quadblogging founder)
  • @Ideas_Factory (Julian S. Wood - primary teacher)
  • @TimRylands (Edtech guru)
