PRESENTATION OUTLINE

DREAMING IN CORNISH

I am in love with Cornwall, especially South and West Cornwall.

Here's why.......

HISTORY IS EVERYWHERE

Whether it's smuggler's coves, shipwrecks or the famous tin and copper mines, Cornwall is full of history and mystery.

DRAMATIC COAST

The mystery and majesty of the Cornish coast, the jagged, rugged rocks and golden beaches make it the envy of many holiday resorts.

MINACK THEATRE

WHERE NATURAL MEETS HAND-CARVED BEAUTY
If you get tickets to see a performance, you will be wowed by the Minack's natural backdrop.

Open to visitors outside of performance shows, it is worth

The story of it's creation, mostly and literally at the hands of one woman, adds to the specialness.

FISH FOOD

PORTHMINSTER CAFE RESTAURANT, ST IVES
My favourite restaurant ever!

Right on Porthminster beach, in St Ives, this is fine dining but in a relaxed, friendly and typically Cornish atmosphere.

I always have the Monkfish Curry - one if their signature dishes. Try it!

TREASURE HUNTING

BEACH-COMBING AND
To my great surprise I have become a beach comber fanatic.

I love looking for treasure and especially sea-glass.

I love the mystery of these objects and the excitement and thrill of finding them!

OH BUOY

LIFE IS A BEACH
In one of my beach combing adventures, I found this cast adrift on Hayle beach.

KYNANCE COVE

THE BEST KEPT SECRET
On your way to the Lizard Peninzula, you will see a sign to turn right for Kynance Cove.

Take it and discover a hidden secret cove.

If the tide is out, you can walk down a rocky pathway to the beach cove and across the stones to the cafe.

It is simply stunningly beautiful.

If the tide is in, you can take the back road to the cafe.

If you fancy a dramatic and challenging coastal walk (3 miles) park your car at Kynance and head left along the coast towards the Lizard and reward yourself with a Cornish cream tea.

Keep your eyes out for seals and dolphins.

JUST DO IT

#SURFING #BOARDING #KAYAKING #KITING #SNORKELLING
Despite my age and lack of sporting prowess, in Cornwall, it seems compulsory to do these things.......so I do!

GIVE STRESS THE BOOT

Another beach-combing find, washed up on the beach and without the missing left boot.

How does one lose such a thing to the sea?!

FLOWERS IN THE ROUGH

I took this picture in the sand dunes at Gwithian.

I like the pluckiness of that flower, standing out, being different and being beautiful.

CREAM TEA ANYONE?

THE MOST SOUTHERLY CAFE, THE LIZARD
So if you manage to do the coastal walk from Kynance to the Lizard, this should be your reward!

The best cream tea with spectacular views.

The Most Southerly Cafe, The Lizard.

DOG FRIENDLY

BOBBIE DREAMS IN CORNISH TOO
Cornwall is the most dog-friendly county in all of England.

Cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops, galleries - almost all are dog-friendly. Just ask or check out the various online guides.

As for Bobbie, well she dreams of Cornish clotted cream, pasties and of course the beach!

DOWN-ALONG

ARTIST QUARTER IN ST IVES
St Ives is famous for the artist colony in residence in the Down-Along old town area.

Many galleries and wonderful artist spaces abound, including the very commercial Tate gallery.

I prefer the back street galleries that offer a more authentic experience.

Some of them offer art courses including iPad art courses.

PHILPS PASTY

ALSO AVAILABLE BY POST
There will be lots of debate but to us the best Cornish pasty is made by Philps Bakery in Hayle.

The bakery always has long queues and has followed the 'send a salami to your boy in the army' service made famous by Katz Deli in NYC - by offering a 'Pasty by Post' service.

Simply delish!
