Key Stage 2

• Aligned to new curriculum
• Look very similar to the previous tests (spelling / grammar / vocab)
• No mental maths test - but...
• a 30 minute arithmetic paper
• All pupils take same paper

reporting KS2

• Reported using a scaled score - 100 being the 'expected'
• The raw score may change each year (differences in difficulty)
• Allows for the comparison year on year - 100 will always be the national standard.
• Conversion tables published on Gov.uk

Key Stage 1

• Previous 'tasks' replaced
• a grammar, punctuation and spelling test
• arithmetic paper
• administered during May

Key Stage 1

• Reading has two papers - comprehension important
• 'technical' aspect of grammar - vocabulary important
• spelling test
