  • Build our own & other's capacity
  • Know your impact
  • Measure student growth
Build capacity;
* selecting professional learning according to your PDP (strategic - not just because it's popular, but aligned to your needs and that of your students)
*Share what you learn - greater power in learning when it is shared.

Know your impact (Hattie); understand that teacher effectiveness has a big impact on student learning and growth.

Measure student growth; build a framework for identifying with students their growth over time - use this to improve teacher practice (i.e. help us to pinpoint what works and what needs greater focus)

Priorities

Initial priorities for 2015 Arts - this is a working list and may be modified over the coming weeks - a starting point.

Australian Curriculum

We will implement 8-10 Arts curriculum this year. Will continue the process of devising scope and sequence documentation.

Budgets

Budgets will be given greater attention. Important not spending for spending's sake (at the end of the term 3), but is strategic and meets the needs of our students.

More planning and thought to be given to this with documentation/rationale etc.

VA44 + Student Movement

VA44 caused many issues and will be an area of focus. A number of strategies will need to be implemented to ensure this resource is utilised effectively and kept in order.

*Booking system will be used
*Room locked when not in use
*Staff will need to be vigilant in maintaining visibility ofthe space and acting on any issues

Student movement and lockers - Donna will be located in VA41 for home group to help ensure end corridor is not used as a free zone for senior students.

All teachers are reminded of the importance of moving students on to their classrooms/study spaces consistently and respectfully and reporting to Donna via email.

Teamwork

A "continued" priority - don't want to lose momentum here. Arts team worked like a well-oiled machine contributing to much success. Let's keep this up!

Wellbeing

Important to ensure we don't burn-out to maintain balance.

This needs to be a priority for all of us!
