CARBOHYDRATES

  • They contain 4 calories per gram. Fiber and Glycogen are two types of
  • carbs. Glycogen is used for fast energy and is used to burn off fast. Sugars brun off in a
  • second. Literally. The four types of Carbs are Sugars, Starches, Fiber, and Glycogen.
  • Fiber helps you digest things and Starches have the longest lasting energy. It lasts the
  • longest out of the four types. It stays with you and thats why you eat pasta the night before a game.

PROTEINS

  • Proteins are so important. They help your muscles grow and they use the proteins as
  • energy. They help produce hormones (like in teens during puberty). They are made of Amino Acids
  • and there are 4 types of amino Acids. Essential, Non essential, Complete Proteins and incomplete.
  • The essential Amino Acids are the most important. Your body cannot produce them naturally so you
  • need to eat them. Proteins are just key to our life on Earth.

FATS

  • Fats are good and bad. Good ones are like the ones naturally in our body.
  • You only need small amounts of fats not a lot. DO NOT EVER EAT TRANS FAT!
  • They are so bad for you and that is why america is so fat. All the fast food places have
  • Trans fat. You can have some fats like Unsaturated Fats to not be as skinny as a twig
  • but you don't need a lot. Foods that have unsaturated fats are like Fish, Plant Oils, and Margirane

VITIMANS

  • They help your overall heath and sometimes dissolve fat.
  • They can help you become healthier and have so many properties
  • that help you feel better and help your health. I take vitamins and I could tell
  • an emidiate difference in my health. What isn't good in some cases like in
  • some cases like pure protein powder often contain steroids. NSF is how to check.

MINERALS

  • They are key to maintaining good health. Most people like us eat to much sodium
  • and not enough calcium in teens. We need calcium to make our bones strong.
  • To make sure you get enough calcium, eat green veggies. Also make sure you have enough
  • iron because iron deficiency is a world wide problem. Eat red meat sometimes but not all the time.
  • Minerals are key to maintain good health. That why I eat my greens and eat red meat once a week.

WATER

  • Considering you are almost fully made of water, its pretty important to stay
  • healthy. Water is used by almost every organ in the body. It helps you maintain
  • homeostasis witch helps you not have a fever. You have to 2.5 quarts of water everyday.
  • You can have too much water and feel sick and if you have too little, you could get dehydrated
  • or possibly die. You always need water, no matter what.
