  • Canada entered WWII with few tanks available for battle
  • Any available tanks were used in Canada and England for practice
  • Canadian tanks were built in Montreal
  • Canadian tanks were used in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium
  • In the end, American Sherman tanks became the tank of choice

THE CHURCHILL

CHURCHILL TANK

  • Used on D-Day for Operation Overlord
  • Tracks broke on beaches from metal barriers and rocks
  • Covered soldiers on beach
  • Replaced by Canadian Ram tank

THE RAM

CANADA'S CRUiSER RAM

  • Used by the 4th and 5th Canadian Armoured Divisions
  • Used in Hamburg, Germany
  • Mostly used in training
  • Replaced by Grizzly tanks

THE GRIZZLY

  • It was too heavy
  • Only 350 made
  • Used as infantry support
