Aposiopesis

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

aPOSIOPESIS

Figure in which the speaker abruptyly falls short of completing a statement

WHat makes it so good?

  • Creates dramatic tension
  • Adds emphasis to a point
  • If used correctly connects speaker with audience

Example #1

This is an example of aposiopesis for it doesn’t complete the statement but goes off to another idea in the part where it says “from…It burst..”

Example #2

This is a valid example for it also stops without completing a statement at "but...Oh.."

Example #3

This fits into the definition for it doesn't complete the saying of "Can you fix a broken.. Can you feel.."
