How does Red Poppies resemble ANZAC Day?

The Red Poppies show significance to Anzac Day due to the cause in World War 1, where they first discovered this magnificent flower’s story. This flower was the first flower to grow and bloom in the mud and soil of Flanders Fields. The connection was made between the first World War battlefield- and the flower… The Red flower now resembles Anzac Day, and is a remembrance to the people who died in the war.

Who established that the Red Poppy should be a symbol for ANZAC Day?

The most famous connection was made by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae in his poem ‘In Flanders Fields’.

Where was the war set?

In Gallipoli. That is where the war was set for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps in June 28th, in the year 1914, and ended on 11th of November in 1918.

Why did the war occur?

The cause behind World War I is the assassination of archduke, Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austrian throne, and his wife, Sophie duchess of Hohenberg. This was the reason behind the World War I. Due to the killing of Franz Ferdinand, the Austrian-Hungarian then fought back.
